Support for divdio Sheets for Excel
Contact us
Write to support@divdio.com with what you did, what you expected and what happened, and which Excel you use (Windows, Mac or the web, and its version from File, Account). We answer within two business days (Sydney time). To report a security vulnerability, write to security@divdio.com instead.
Requirements
- Excel on Windows (Microsoft 365, or Excel 2019 or later), Excel on Mac (Microsoft 365, or Excel 2019 or later), or Excel on the web.
- The add-in needs Excel's JavaScript API at requirement set ExcelApi 1.8 or later. Comments in Scan need ExcelApi 1.10; on an older Excel the comment check says it could not run, and every other check still runs.
Install
- For yourself: in Excel, choose Home, Add-ins (or Insert, Get Add-ins), search for "divdio Sheets for Excel" and choose Add. The divdio button appears on the Home tab.
- For your organisation: a Microsoft 365 admin opens the admin centre, Settings, Integrated apps, chooses Get apps, finds "divdio Sheets for Excel" and deploys it to everyone or to chosen groups. It appears in Excel within a few hours.
- Remove it: in Excel, Home, Add-ins, More add-ins, My add-ins, then Remove on the add-in's menu; an admin removes a deployed add-in in Integrated apps.
Using it
- Choose divdio on the Home tab to open the pane. The tabs are History, Diff, Scan, Lint and Assertions.
- Scan, Lint and Assertions read the open workbook in bands, so large workbooks stay responsive; Cancel stops a run.
- Every fix is an ordinary Excel edit: undo it with Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) like any other edit.
- Assertions are saved in the workbook itself and travel with the file.
- Until you sign in to a divdio workspace, History keeps snapshots only while the pane is open.
Common questions
The divdio button is missing. Check that the add-in is listed under Home, Add-ins, My add-ins. If your organisation deployed it, it can take a few hours to appear; signing out of Excel and back in helps.
A check says it could not run. Your Excel does not offer the part of the API that check needs (for example comments before ExcelApi 1.10). Updating Excel turns it on; the other checks are not affected.
Does the add-in upload my file? No. See the privacy policy for exactly what is read and where it goes.
